Jordan and Kaylynn Beckham are two creative professionals based in Pittsburgh, PA. Here’s what they had to say when I asked more about their creative collaboration:

Can each of you tell me a little about the concept behind the photoshoot?
Well, the project started with Kaylynn trying to come up with an idea to update her portfolio and website for the New Year. Wanting to make sure to show her complete versatility as an artist, she wanted girls with different skin tones, eye colors, hair colors, et cetera to do a daytime look, an evening look, and a high fashion look. She happened to have the song, “Girl for All Seasons,” stuck in her head. Then it hit her, she would find girls that seemed to embody the spirit of winter, spring, summer, and autumn, respectively.

Kaylynn and I agreed that everyone needs to be able to benefit from the shoot and wanted it to be more than just pretty photos, so for a couple of weeks we tossed around ideas for conceptual photos to go along with each season. And thus, Girl for All Seasons was born January 2009.

I really like the combination of bold, vibrant colors in some of the photos and the slightly darker, contrasting tones in the others. Is this the result of the collaboration or do you both have similar tastes?

I actually proposed the idea for the single shots to be very vibrant and the conceptual shots to be unsaturated. Kaylynn felt the idea would push the concept of the entire project further and really complement her work.

How long have the two of you been working together?
We have been working together since June 2007.

Do you ever run into a challenges working on a project?
Creatively, we typically see eye to eye. However, disagreements tend to arise when it comes to casting for various reasons and to varying degrees. Being a model herself, Kaylynn takes into consideration the potential model’s body of work and professionalism first and foremost. Enthusiasm won’t necessarily give someone the ability to “model through” a pound of make up.

I think the both of you have a neat partnership going on. Are there any upcoming projects you’d like to talk about or promote?
I’m doing a celebrity look a like project. Its going to be part two. I did the first project with 16 people and it turned out pretty well. I did a contest to see who could guess them all. Part two is being shot very soon.
