Aaron Jackendoff is a photographer and student hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. He is currently pursuing an education at Point Park University and considers photography to be more than a hobby.

He photographs various subjects, but seems to gravitate towards portraits, events and photos capturing the essence and movement of everyday life. Aaron considers himself an active participant in the world he captures through the lens of his camera. He is capable of capturing movement and moments that are often inaccessible to the general public.

Aaron currently has an exhibit at Point Park University showcasing the talent and movement of the many types of dancers who perform and practice at the university almost daily. Many of the dancers admire the work he does and how he is able to capture the very essence of their technique and hard work that is put into a performance.

Aaron holds a great regard for the subjects he photographs, as well as admiring the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Weston, Eugene Atget and painters such as Degas and the playwright, Samuel Beckett.

In addition to attending traditional school, Aaron also currently takes figure drawing classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art. He also graduated from the prestigious Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, as well as from the PA Governor’s School for the Arts. He also enjoys checking out websites and podcasts, such as http://strobist.blogspot.com/, Layers TV, and Photoshop User TV.
