Pedro Matos
Pedro Mato’s work is a blend between the old style and graffiti, mixed in with a social message that really hits home upon seeing his work. His subjects usually include the downtrodden, the “invisible”, and the ones who tend to fade into the background, whether it’s due to their culture disintegrating or just ignorance on the part of society. Matos is almost entirely self-taught and has ambition that will surely get him noticed in the art world.
Pedro Matos was born in 1989 in Santarem, Portugal, and currently resides in Lisboa. Matos started painting in 2006 on his own, learning as he went and developing his own unique style. He struggles at time to prove his talent despite his young age and has plans to attend art school next year, majoring in Fine Arts: Painting. He has been published in Myartspace, P’Almada Magazine, Juxtapoz web, Vert Magazine and Arthead SF web. He has had solo and group exhibits in Lisbon, and has three upcoming shows, one in Germany this year.
